About Blood Ties:
1) Were you familiar with Tanya Huff's books prior to appearing on the show based on her book series?
I was in a way, my wife was a fan of Tanya's books.
2) How would you describe your character? Why did you want this role?
Dimitri was a bit of a thug, but looking back on it he was really a dedicated and loyal employee, who's love for his employer gave him license to do whatever it took to please her or keep her safe. As far as wanting the role, I always look for an opportunity, particularly with notorious characters, to try and give them some redeeming qualities and some level of vulnerability.
3) How would you describe what Dimitri's relationship with Elena (Medusa)is?
A bit of a dog and master thing.
4) Had you worked with any of the cast or crew prior to Blood Ties?
I had worked with the DOP Danny, on Dragon Boys.
5) What was the interviewing process like for Blood Ties?
Like any other, I auditioned and won the role.
6) Did you film in an actual club or was it a designed set? Do you remember any locations where you filmed outside of the set?
The club was an actual club. Other locations were a mixture of sets and outdoor locations.
7) Since the series doesn't air in Canada, have you been able to see your episode yet? What did you think of the episode?
I haven't seen it yet.
8) Who is the first person you told that you got the role on Blood Ties? How did you celebrate getting this role?
Like any other role I called my wife. We had our momentary celebration, and as usual we started looking at what would come next. I try not to focus to long on the job at hand once it's booked. I tend to keep driving forward.
9) Any lasting memories from working on the set?
Smashing the statues was an interesting set up. I was told it would "shatter" but at the end of the day it turned out to be too solid and slightly moist on the inside and it just sort of crumbled.
10) What are your upcoming projects?
I'm currently working on an INSIGHT project called Smoke Jumpers. And I am waiting on several projects to hit the air.
